During his first official visit to Gordon House, Chief Richard Currie signed the official visitor’s log. The Chief along with his team discussed key issues of opportunities for trade and commerce between the two states, and opportunities for deepening and strengthening peaceful and friendly relations.
There to welcome Chief Currie were Honourable Thomas Tavares-Finson OJ, CD, QC, JP, President of the Senate and Honourable Marisa Dalrymple-Philibert, MP, Speaker of the House. “I would like to specifically thank the President of the Senate, President Tavares-Finson for his noble gesture in inviting the Government of the Maroons of the Sovereign State of Cockpit Country to begin a government-to-government dialogue”, Chief Currie wrote on his IG account.
The day was even more special as also that date April 21st commemorates H.I.M. Haile Selassie I Emperor of Ethiopia visit to Jamaica.
