In a stunning comeback, Elaine Thompson-Herah has reignited her sprinting career with a series of impressive performances in 2026. After facing a challenging period marked by coaching changes and injuries that limited her to just two races in 2024 and kept her off the track entirely in 2025, the five-time Olympic gold medallist is proving that she is far from finished.
Reunited with her coach Reynaldo Walcott, who also guided her in 2024, Thompson-Herah delivered a remarkable 10.92-second time in Kingston in April, marking her fastest 100m since September 2023. Her resurgence continued at the World Athletics Relays, where she made her first appearance for Jamaica since the 2023 World Championships. Anchoring the women’s 4x100m relay team, she powered past Canada’s Donna Ntambue to secure a gold medal with a time of 42.00.
